A letter to Shirley in Heaven.
Shirley Brendlinger I will forever miss your amazing sense of humor. When you laughed it made Me laugh also. On left is Her ash tray and it reads "Jesus hates it when you smoke". Which She did for many years. On right is a shadow box and inside is a painting of two folks holding umbrellas as a couple dances on the beach in the rain. I'm guessing a thunder storm. It's called "The singing Butler" By Scottish artist Jack Hogan. Both are from Her apartment. She worked for the Philadelphia Enquirer for many years until their down sizing. Always politically charged, she always had the inside story. After retiring she worked at a women's shelter to help people live a better life. I was very proud of you for doing that. But it was time for you to go. You decided to reunite with Piwacket and your sweet doggie Tulio. I don't think you ever got over losing Tulio. You were only 71 when you passed last week. But you lived and died on your own terms. What seemed like a minor problem became so much more. We loved you Shirley and will miss you always. I was never bored when you were around. Holidays are just not going to be the same without you. Life is so fragile.. RIP Shirley. This is so sad.
